Privacy Policy

Kanzimon is a character study app for kanji, hanzi, and kana. This Privacy Policy explains what information Kanzimon handles and how it is used.

Information You Add to Kanzimon

Kanzimon stores the study records and preferences you choose to create or import, such as flashcard decks, review progress, keywords, stories, readings, imported files, and settings.

Kanzimon is designed as a local-first app. Your records are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, sync, or otherwise move them outside the app using system features or optional app features.

AI Story Generation

Kanzimon may offer AI-assisted mnemonic story generation. When you use this feature, the character and context needed to generate the story may be sent to the configured AI service. Do not include sensitive personal information in story prompts.

Files, Imports, and Exports

Kanzimon may ask for access to files so you can import or export study data. Kanzimon uses file access only for the action you request.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Kanzimon offers optional Premium subscriptions through Apple. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment details are handled by Apple. Kanzimon receives subscription status information from Apple so the app can unlock Premium features.

Kanzimon does not receive your full payment card number or Apple ID password.

Data Sharing

Kanzimon does not sell your personal information.

Data may leave the app only when you choose to export, share, sync, use an AI feature, or when required by law.

Analytics and Diagnostics

Kanzimon does not currently operate a custom analytics service. Apple may provide developers with aggregated diagnostics, crash reports, App Store analytics, and related reports according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your Kanzimon records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, delete the app, or remove related files or backups yourself. Exported files and backups that you create are controlled by you and may remain wherever you save or share them.

Children

Kanzimon is not directed to children under 13. Do not use Kanzimon to submit information about children unless you have the right to do so.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Kanzimon changes. The effective date above will be updated when the policy changes.
